Campaign Unavailable We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit American Lung Association of California. The short explanation of this alert was: California received an "F" grade in the just released American Lung Association State of Tobacco Control Report Card for its spending on tobacco prevention and control programs. This failing grade is based upon the recommendations by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for funding a comprehensive tobacco control program. Also, California received a "C" grade for its state tobacco tax level, which is ranked 19th in the nation. We're urging Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to increase the state tobacco tax and dedicate a portion of the revenues to fighting smoking and helping smokers quit. Let's urge Governor Schwarzenegger to make raising California's low tobacco prevention and control grades his New Year's Resolution for 2004!
