Campaign Unavailable We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit American Lung Association in Oklahoma. The short explanation of this alert was: The second annual American Lung Association State of Tobacco Control: 2003 report has been released. This national report card analyzes state tobacco control laws in four key areas-smokefree air, tobacco program funding, cigarette excise taxes and youth access to tobacco. Oklahoma scored grades of "C" in smokefree air, "F" in tobacco prevention and control spending, and "D" in youth access to tobacco. Once again, the state earned an "F" grade for its cigarette excise tax. This report should be a wake-up call to the legislature and our governor about the status of tobacco control in Oklahoma. Our smokefree air laws are now very strong, protecting most Oklahomans from having to breathe toxic fumes when visiting in a public place or working in most workplaces. While we have made progress on smokefree air, Oklahoma still remains far behind in the other areas. Please take a moment to send the attached letter to your State Senator and Representative.
