Campaign Unavailable We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit American Lung Association of Kentucky. The short explanation of this alert was: The third annual American Lung Association State of Tobacco Control: 2004 report has been released. This national report card analyzes state tobacco control laws in four key areas. Unfortunately, Kentucky scored an F in all the areas covered in the report: youth access to tobacco, toboacco program funding, smokefree air, and cigarette excise taxes. One bright spot for Kentucky was Lexington's historic passage of a comprehensive smokefree air ordinance, however as this report clearly shows, Kentucky can and must do more to reduce its high adult and youth smoking rates.
Please take a moment to send the attached letter to Governor Fletcher, Senate President David Williams, and House Speaker Jody Richards, asking them take action on cigarette excise taxes in Kentucky.
