Campaign Unavailable We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit Alaska Lung Action. The short explanation of this alert was: The American Lung Association's 2007 State of Tobacco Control report has been released! This national report card analyzes state tobacco control laws in four key areas - Smokefree Air, Tobacco Control Program Funding, Cigarette Taxes and Youth Access to tobacco. Alaska scored an A in Tobacco Prevention and Control Spending as one of only 9 states total spending at least the CDC recommended minimum amount; Bs in Cigarette Tax and Youth Access for it's increase of $.20 per pack for a total state tax of $2.00 per pack and for it's strong youth access laws; and an F in Smokefree Air. *Note: The Smokefree Air grade only examines state tobacco control law and does not reflect local smokefree ordinances. Alaska has made great strides in protecting people from secondhand smoke by passing strong local smokefree ordinances. To view the report card, click here.
