The short explanation of this alert was:
On May 1, the American Lung Association released its State of the Air Report that shows 142 million Americans live in counties with unhealthy levels of air pollution. This includes nearly 2 million children who suffer from asthma attacks and an estimated 1.5 million people with emphysema. Send a letter to President Bush, Congress and EPA Administrator Whitman today demanding strict enforcement of the Clean Air Act to protect the health of these and all Americans.
