The short explanation of this alert was:

On May 1, the American Lung Association State of the Air 2003 report  was released.  The report shows that 137 million Americans live in counties with unhealthy levels of air pollution. This includes nearly 2 million children who suffer from asthma attacks and an estimated 1.5 million people with emphysema.  Despite the urgent need for strict enforcement of the Clean Air Act, leaders in Washington are working to weaken this landmark public health law.  We can stop them, if you join our effort to fight for clean air.

Send a letter to Congress today supporting strict enforcement of the Clean Air Act and opposing the Bush Administration plan to weaken and delay air pollution clean up. Explain how air pollution affects your health and the health of your family.
