The Coalition for a Healthy Future--American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, American Lung Association of California, Next Generation California Tobacco Control Alliance, Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids and Americans for Nonsmoker's Rights-is generating public support for its proposal to raise the state tobacco tax an extra $1.50 with 20 cents dedicated to fighting smoking. 

Right now, critical state budget negotiations are going on in Sacramento and Big Tobacco is trying to stop the proposed $1.50 tobacco tax that would dedicate 20 cents to fight smoking. The last thing the cigarette companies want is for people to stop smoking!
