The short explanation of this alert was:
Please send the letter below and tell Governor Davis and the Legislature to reverse the budget cuts that would cripple California's pioneering anti-tobacco program. Tell them to add 15 cents to their current tobacco tax and use the money to help smokers quit and to prevent our children from getting addicted. Just 15 cents could save 29,000 lives!
