In 2006, New York State passed a law that requires all state owned and operated diesel-powered vehicles and equipment as well as all diesel vehicles/equipment operated under contract with the state be operated with cleaner diesel fuel and to be fitted with tailpipe filters that could reduce their pollution by up to 90%.  Before this law could be enacted, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is holding hearings and accepting public comment regarding the enacting regulations.  Tell the Commissioner that you want him to clean our air by ensuring that the strongest regulations are enacted.
