The short explanation of this alert was:
More than half of Americans breathe toxic air on a regular basis, according to the American Lung Association State of the Air: 2004 report, released on April 29th. 159 million Americans live in counties with unhealthy levels of either ozone or particle pollution; 46 million people in counties where the air fails every test. But despite the critical need for strict enforcement of the Clean Air Act, some in Washington are working to weaken this landmark public health law. We can stop them, if you join our fight for clean air.
Send a letter to Congress today--demand strict enforcement of the Clean Air Act and oppose the Administration's plan to weaken air pollution clean-up of power plants, oil refineries and other factories. Don’t let special interests get in the way of your family’s health any longer!
