Governor Schwarzenegger will decide in the next week whether to sign AB 2276 (Pavley)to protect public health by cutting ozone emissions from home air cleaning devices. Please send a letter today urging the Governor to sign this important bill to improve indoor air. Many air cleaners marketed as "air purifiers" intentionally emit large amounts of ozone, a criteria air pollutant that is linked to lung illnesses, asthma attacks, hospitalizations and premature deaths. AB 2276 would require the California Air Resources Board to adopt new standards to cut ozone emissions from these devices and protect public health.
