American Lung Association State of the Air 2006

We're sorry, the Zip Code you entered (is either not a valid USPS Zip Code, or no monitor for ozone or particle pollution exists in your county.

Only about a fourth of the counties have ozone monitors and/or particle pollution monitors. In addition, some counties have one kind of monitor but not both.

The absence of a monitor in your county doesn't necessarily mean your county has no ozone or particle pollution problem. For example, your state may have decided that monitors in adjacent counties can indicate whether ozone or particle problems would exist in your county. Or your county may be emitting some of the raw ingredients which "cook" in the sunlight and heat and form ozone downwind. Both ozone and particle pollution can also be blown into your county from nearby counties or states as well.
